La couleur des cristaux est essentielle dans leur action sur le corps et l’Esprit humain. Les lois physiques élémentaires des couleurs et de la lumière démontrent que les couleurs des cristaux ne sont pas strictement assimilables ou superposables aux couleurs utilisées dans d’autres cadres de référence. Les couleurs des cristaux sont, en effet, des couleurs Matière et non des couleurs Lumière. La couleur Matière correspond à un mouvement d’énergie : c’est la couleur physique sous laquelle les « objets » se voient. C’est une couleur émise, non absorbée (ou rétrodiffusée) par l’objet. Dans ce cas, quand un objet apparaît rouge, c’est qu’il absorbe toutes les couleurs du spectre de la lumière blanche sauf le rouge. La couleur Lumière correspond à un état quantique de l’énergie. C’est une fréquence d’ondes en mouvement qui va de l’état de la Vibration le plus « bas » (rouge) à l’état le plus « haut » (violet). Dans ce cas, la lumière rouge, par exemple, est composée de photons dont la longueur d’onde est le rouge. La tradition chinoise a affirmé un lien entre couleur Matière et effet énergétique qui permet donc d’offrir une loi de résonance entre les couleurs Matière (des cristaux, par exemple, ou encore des aliments) et leurs effets sur la santé et l’Énergie de l’Homme. Ceci explique donc que, sur le plan physique, une couleur Lumière rouge, par exemple, est différente, voire opposée, dans ses effets et propriétés, d’un objet de couleur Matière rouge.
