Soul Quartz, also known as Faden Quartz (from the German word Faden, meaning “thread”), is a unique variety of lamellar quartz. Its distinctive feature is the presence of a fine milky-white filament running through the crystal from the tip to the base. This central thread, known as the “faden”, is a mineral scar formed during the crystal's growth along a moving fault or tectonic vein.
Unlike other flat quartz crystals, Soul Quartz can be identified by this internal white line, which gives it a pure and fascinating appearance. These crystals are generally flat, elongated and display remarkable clarity.
In crystal healing, Faden Quartz is traditionally associated with calming and grounding qualities. It is believed to promote the connection between body and mind, support the healing of emotional wounds and strengthen energetic coherence.
The main deposits of Faden Quartz are found in the Alps (Switzerland, Austria and Italy), as well as in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Brazil and the United States.
